Chairs Window

A chair in axiUm represents a chair/operatory in a clinic; the physical location where an appointment takes place.

If a clinic has a high failure and cancellation rate, you may choose to overbook appointments within that clinic. In this case, you can create overflow (or virtual) chairs in axiUm that do not map to a physical operatory. Once the clinic session begins, appointments can be moved from these virtual chairs to actual clinic chairs that are available due to patients not showing up.

The Chairs window allows you to manage the list of chairs/operatories at your institution.

Chairs - Field Definitions

Field	Description
Filter By Clinic	A drop-down list that indicates which Clinic is used to filter the list of chairs. Tip: Select All Clinics to view all chairs, regardless of their associated clinic.
Name	A text field that indicates the short name / code for the chair. Tip: Chairs are ordered alphabetically by Name. Give each chair in the clinic a name that starts with the same string to keep them together in the list.
Description	A text field that describes the chair. Tip: This is generally the same as the Name field.
Clinic	A drop-down list that indicates which Clinic the chair is located in.
Location	A drop-down list that indicates which Location Code is used for paper charts and dispensary requests for the chair. Important: This location field is not associated with the Default Location field in the Clinics window.
Time Block	A drop-down list that indicates the size of time blocks to use when scheduling in this chair: 10 Minutes 15 Minutes 20 Minutes 30 Minutes This time increment displays in the Active tab when using Book mode of scheduling.
Import Code	A text field that indicates the unique import code used to import schedule data.
Unavailable	A check box that, when selected, indicates that the chair is unavailable and cannot be used. Example: A chair is broken and awaiting repair/replacement.
Overflow	A check box that, when selected, indicates this is a virtual chair used to overbook a clinic that has a high instance of appointment failures and cancellations.
Order	A text field that indicates the order in which appointments in overflow chairs will be reassigned to non-overflow chairs when the synchronize functionality is used. Note: This field only displays when the Overflow check box is selected.

Chairs - Tasks

Task	Procedure
Add Chairs	Click the Clear Data () icon. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Chairs	Select a listed entry. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Chairs	Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report	(Optional) To preview the Chairs report, click the Preview Report () icon. To print the Chairs report, click the Print Report () icon. Note: The Chairs report uses the chairs.rpt file.
