Location Codes Window

Location codes are used to identify specific locations within your institution and are used for paper chart requests and dispensary requests.

Examples: Health-related courses, inoculations, and Locations.

The Location Codes window allows you to manage the list of available Location codes for your institution.

Field Description
Location

A text field that indicates the code that identifies the location.
Inactive

A check box that, when selected, indicates the field is inactive and not in use.
Description A text field that indicates the name of the location.
Charts Go To

A drop-down list that describe who a paper chart is scanned out to:

  • Provider/User: Charts scanned out at this location are signed out to the provider/user that requested the chart.
  • Location Area: Charts scanned out at this location are signed out to the location and not a specific provider/user.
Chart Locks (paper charts)

A text field that indicates the chart tracking lock to use for paper charts at this location.

The ellipsis is used to display the Chart Tracking Locks window and select a chart tracking lock code.
Dispensary

A drop-down list of available dispensary locations that indicates the locations default dispensary.

Note: This list is populated from the Dispensary Location Codes list.

Active Days (for Chart Req.)

Check boxes that, when selected, indicate that the location is open on that day.

Selected (open) days are used to calculate the minimum hours of notice for submitting chart requests for users.

Example: If a user’s minimum hours of notice for submitting chart request is 48 hours, and Saturday and Sunday are deselected, axiUm will display an error if a chart is requested on Friday for use on Monday.

This section works in conjunction with the Minimum Notice __ hours before appt. field in Users > Additional tab > Scheduling area.

Task Procedure
Add Location Codes
  1. Click the Clear Data () icon.
  2. Complete the fields as necessary and click the Add a new Record () icon.
Edit Location Codes
  1. Select a listed entry.
  2. Make any necessary changes and click the Modify Record () icon.
Delete Location Codes
  1. Select a listed entry and click the Delete Record () icon.
  2. When prompted, click Yes to confirm the deletion.
Preview/Print Report
  1. (Optional) To preview the Location Codes report, click the Preview Report () icon.
  2. To print the Location Codes report, click the Print Report () icon.

    3. Note: The Location Codes report uses the location.rpt file.
